However, when McCartney attempted to gain entry to the party venue, door staff were unmoved and rejected his pleas to be allowed inside.

Video footage obtained by TMZ.com shows the Brit joking that he, Beck, and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins might not be famous enough to attend the party, saying, "How VIP do we gotta get?"

Turning around to share a laugh with his companions about their predicament, McCartney then joked, "We need another hit."

According to the website, the trio of music icons left disappointed after failing to reason with club security staff, and they attended a party held by Republic Records instead.

Thanks for the inspiration, he really knows how challenging journey that we've been through, and it provides us with some guidelines for entering into what we're trying to enter.
