Five great Grammy performances, ranked

After another performance-packed Grammy Awards ceremony, USA TODAY selects the night's five most memorable sets.
1. Alexander Hamilton, cast of Broadway'sHamilton
Even with the expert camera angles used to capture the opening number of this groundbreaking musical — presented via satellite from the stage of Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre — fans weren't offered the full thrill of seeing the show live and in its entirety. Still, the lavishly talented actor/singer/dancers did provide a sense of the exhilarating energy that fuels this celebration of great American traditions such as musical theater, hip-hop and inclusiveness.
2. The Thrill Is GoneChris Stapleton, Gary Clark Jr. and Bonnie Raitt
Country star Stapleton, who picked up a pair of Grammys this year, proved his blues chops — and reminded us of the great common ground between the genres — by holding his own with the masterful Clark and duly treasured Raitt, on both vocals and guitar. The three delivered a soulful tribute to the late B.B. King, who made such exquisitely sweet, searing sounds with both instruments.
3. That’s the Way of the World, Stevie Wonder and Pentatonix
Pentatonix proved its mettle with a heavenly, and suitably groovy, a cappella tribute toEarth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White, another recently departed genius. Of course, the group had the great good fortune to have a living legend, Stevie Wonder, in wonderfully nimble voice, lead them in this all-too-brief rendition of the EWF classic.
4. Girl Crush, Little Big Town
After opening with warm a cappella harmonies, the band was joined by a string section that added strains of tension and pathos. But Karen Fairchild’s nuanced lead vocal sustained an understated, healing vibe to the end, lending an extra layer of tenderness to the song.
5. The Blacker the BerryAlright, Kendrick Lamar
Throwing caution and subtlety to the wind, Lamar blended the dissonant jazz accents that inform his genre-blending hip-hop album To Pimp A Butterfly with stark imagery. Dressed as a prisoner, he launched his set with a chain wrapped around his mic as musicians played behind bars. A fiery sequence followed, but the raw power of Lamar’s rapping and his sheer expressiveness were never overshadowed.

Guus Hiddink has hinted that he will blood more of Chelsea’s youngsters if the club’s season is effectively written off this week.
Chelsea face a make-or-break six days in which they play the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain tonight and Manchester City in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Positive results in both games will fuel belief that Chelsea can salvage what has been a turbulent season, but defeats would leave the club contemplating a trophyless campaign without European qualification.

Paul McCartney gets refused entry to Grammy Award party

Paul McCartney is undoubtedly considered one of the most legendary musicians of our time, boasting 24 number one singles and a total of 98 weeks at the number one spot - that’s nearly two years.

However, that apparently wasn't enough for him to gain access to a Grammy after party in Hollywood last night.

Paul McCartney, Beck, and Taylor Hawkins were refused entry to a Grammy Awards afterparty.

The Beatles icon and his rocker pals tried to head to an exclusive post awards bash hosted by the rapper Tyga at Los Angeles nightclub Argyle after Monday night's ceremony.

However, when McCartney attempted to gain entry to the party venue, door staff were unmoved and rejected his pleas to be allowed inside.

Video footage obtained by TMZ.com shows the Brit joking that he, Beck, and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins might not be famous enough to attend the party, saying, "How VIP do we gotta get?"

Turning around to share a laugh with his companions about their predicament, McCartney then joked, "We need another hit."

According to the website, the trio of music icons left disappointed after failing to reason with club security staff, and they attended a party held by Republic Records instead.

Barack Obama To Visit Vietnam In May: White House

President Barack Obama will visit Vietnam in May when he'll be in Asia attending an international summit.

The White House says Obama told Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung that he had accepted an invitation to visit the former US adversary.

Obama and Dung spoke on Monday on the sidelines of a US summit with Southeast Asian leaders taking place in Southern California.

The White House says they discussed improved relations between their countries. Last year marked 20 years since diplomatic relations between them were restored.

Obama met at the White House last year with Nguyen Phu Trong, head of Vietnam's Communist Party.

At the time, Trong said he had invited Obama to visit. Obama noted the invitation in his remarks but didn't say whether he had accepted it.
